Darfur Timeline Assignment
100 points!

Use the handout given to you in class today to create your own illustrated timeline.

Directions:

1. Create a timeline on a poster or large piece of paper

2. Use the years listed on the handout, and arrange them in chronological order on your poster

3. For each year summarize the important facts in bullet points

4. Create a slogan for each year. Remember a slogan is a memorable phrase used to express an idea or a purpose. Your slogan should highlight the main issue or problem from that year

5. Include on your poster one symbol that represents the overall conflict in Darfur. Remember, a symbol is something that comes to represent an abstract idea or concept -- it is anything that stands for something beyond itself. You should be creative here!
Under your symbol, include 1 sentence that explains how your symbol represents the conflict in Darfur. Use this template: ________ represents the conflict in Darfur because……
Your timeline should be neat, with big bold letters and lots of color and detail
