First Body Paragraph: Your Country
· Topic sentence that introduces your country and states an opinion (example: Sudan is a war-torn, oil rich country that struggles with religious tension, poverty and illiteracy)

· Weave together important CDs about your country. Paint a picture of this country with your words. This paragraph should be mostly facts.

· Focus specifically on information that helps your reader understand why this might be a country where the specific human rights abuse is occurring. You don’t need to include every demographic! Just choose the ones that fit with your topic.

· Include commentary in this paragraph about how these demographics might have affected the likelihood of this abuse happening.

· Include a CS at the end as well!

Sudan is a war-torn, oil rich country that struggles with religious tension, poverty and fleeing citizens. The country is 70% Sunni Muslim, found mostly in the north and 5% Christian, found mostly in the South (“Sudan Demographics”). This divide clearly contributes to religious tensions as the two groups fight over territory and beliefs.
