Apartheid in class essay

Please complete the back of the pink sheet you received in class. Here it is:

Prompt: Why did the Afrikaans government need the apartheid laws to stay in power?

·         Your first body paragraph should discuss four of the apartheid laws and how they controlled people. Think about what rights they took away.

·         Your second body paragraph should discuss four more apartheid laws and how they helped the Afrikaans government stay in power. Think about how the laws were advantageous to the government.

In this essay you should try weaving at least one of the body paragraphs. Remember, you can combine CD’s and CM’s and don’t necessarily need a strict ratio of CD’s to CM’s, but any time you have facts (CD’s) you need to analyze them (write commentary).
